Description of Primula sieboldii Dancing Ladies - Primel

Primel gehört zur Sektion Cortusoides und breitet sich langsam mit Hilfe ihrer schwach tragenden unterirdischen Rhizome aus. Sie hat hübsche, ovale Blätter mit grob gezahnten Rändern, die an der Basis herzförmig sind und eine schöne, frische hellgrüne Farbe haben. Die zahlreichen Stängel tragen offene Blüten in großen Schalen mit blassrosa, aber intensiv purpurroten, gefransten Blütenblättern.

Planting of Primula sieboldii Dancing Ladies - Primel

Die Kultur ist recht einfach in einem halbschattigen, feuchten Boden ohne Kalk und reich an Humus. Der ideale Standort ist ein steiniger Untergrund in einem lehmigen Boden mit einer reichhaltigen Schicht aus Lauberde, in Gesellschaft von Funkien, Elfenblumen... unter einem Japanischen Ahorn zum Beispiel. Wichtig ist, dass der Boden immer feucht und gut durchlässig ist. Diese Pflanze tritt frühzeitig in eine Ruhephase ein, manchmal schon im August. Es besteht kein Grund zur Sorge, sie tut dies zum Schutz vor Trockenheit; man sollte sich nur daran erinnern, wo genau sie gepflanzt ist, um keine unbedachte Hackbewegung auf die in Ruhe befindlichen Rhizome zu machen.
